Eliso ‘Eli’ Fernando Soriano, also known as BES ( Bro. Eli Soriano), Brother Eli or Kapatid na Eli is a Fiipino televangelist. He currently the ‘Overall servant’ of the Members Church of God International (MCGI). It is an international Christian religious organization with headquarters in Pampanga, Philippines. He is also the main host of a radio and television program Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path). Eli was born on 4th April 1947 in Pasay, Philippines. He started school when he was 8. He dropped out of school 3 months before graduation due to an alleged religious debate between Eli and the school administrator. 7th April, 1964, 3 days after his 17th birthday, he was baptized and became a member of the Church of God in Christ Jesus, Pillar and Support of the Truth - ( (CGCJPST) - his parents church. In 1969 Nicholas Antiporda Perez, the church’s presiding minister, gave Eli the title of minister. The rumour was that when Perez died Eli would succeed him. Perez died in 1975 and Levita Gugulan, not Eli, became the new leader. He initially accepted the appointment but later denounced her leadership by saying according to the Bible women should not be leaders of the church . In 1976 Eli and his allies left the Gugulan sect. They setup their own sect with a similar name to CGCJPST. This resulted in a suit being filed. Eventually in 2004 it became Members Church of God International (MCGI. Robert W. Schambach was an American televangelist, pastor, Word of Faith minister of the Word and author. His television Power Todaycan be seen on the Datstar Christian TV network as well as over the internet and streaming podcasts. Robert was born on 3rd of April 1926 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He became a born again Christian as a youth - he was standing on a street corner when the evangelist C.M. Ward gave an altar call. He felt a call to preach but decided to pursue other dreams first. He joined the U.S. Navy and served as a boiler maker on a destroyer in the Pacific and Asia during WW 11. having survived that he surrendered to God and was determined to preach the Gospel wherever God sent him. Adrian Pierce Rogers was an American Southern Baptist pastor and conservative author. He served 3 times as the President of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) (1979-80) (1986-8). He was instrumental in the SB denomination’s conservative resurgence in the late 1970s. He was the founder of the Adrian Rogers Pastor Training Institute ( ARPTI) for ministers. He also established the Religious Roundtable. Adrian was born in West Palm beach, Florida on 12th September 1931. He entered the Christian ministry aged 19. He graduated form Stetson University in DeLand, Florida and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was ordained by Northwood Baptist Church (now Family Church village)in West Palm Beach. His first job as senior pastor was at Fellsmere baptist Church. His second ministry was on Merritt Island, Florida (1964-72). He became the senior pastor at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis,Tennessee in 1972, where he remained until he retired in March 2005. The membership grew from 9,000 to 29,000 and the church moved into a new megachurch facility. Adrian was pastor emeritus after his retirement. When he became president of SBC in 1979 he was the first conservative to be elected on a platform of biblical inerrancy. James Robison is an American Televangelist and the founder and president of the Christian relief organization- Life Outreach International. James, with his wife Betty, now host the daily television program LIFE Today. James was born and raised in Pasadena, Texas. His mother, Myra Wattinger, was raped. She wanted an abortion: the doctor refused. She put an ad in the paper for a Christian couple to adopt him. H.D. Hale, a local area pastor and his wife, raised James. Luis Palau Jr. is one of the world’s leading international Christian evangelists and lives in the Portland area of Oregon, USA. He was born in Argentina and moved to Portland in his mid-twenties to enroll in a gradate program in Biblical studies. For many years he had a long and close relationship with Billy Graham. Luis was born on 27th November 1934 in Maschwitz, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has 5 younger sisters and a step brother. His father, a construction executive, died when Luis was 10. Wanda Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Moore (born 16th June 1957, nee Green) is an American evangelist, author and Bible teacher. She is the founder of Living proof Ministries, a Bible based organization for women based in Houston, Texas. The ministry focuses on helping women who desire to model their lives on evangelical Christian principles. At the age of 18 Beth sensed God calling her to work for him. She made it her goal to say ‘yes’ to whatever he asked. Beth earned a degree in political science from Southwest Texas State University, where she pledged and was initiated into Chi Omega. Beth married Keith Moore in 1978. After years of of developing homework for those attending her Bible Study classes she realized she had a ministry. In 1993 she self- published her first book - Things Pondered. 1994 she founded Living Proof Ministries with the purpose of teaching women to know and love Jesus through the study of Scripture. William Samuel Winston. also known as Dr. Bill Winston or Bill Winston is an American televangelist, preacher, author and entrepreneur. He is the founder and senior pastor of Living Word Christian Center, a non-denominational church in Forest park, Illinois with over 20,000 members. He is also the founder of Bill Winston Ministries (BWM), Faith Ministries Alliance (FMA), Bible Training Center,Joseph Business School and The Joseph Center. Bill was born on 6th May 1943 and raised in Tuskegee. He says he was inspired by the Tuckegee airmen and other local aviators. In 1967 he graduated from the Tuskee Institute and enlisted in the US Air Force (1967-73). He served as a fighter pilot during the Vietnam War. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross after he piloted an F-4E Phantom that struck anti-aircraft batteries deep within North Vietnamese territory in March 1971. In 1973 he joined IBM Corporation. He soon became Regional marketing manager in the Midwest region (1973-85). While at IBM he met and married Veronica Irene Brown in 1982. He was also ‘born again’ while at IBM and felt a call into full time ministry and left to attend Logos Bible School. They travelled to Chicago every week-end to sponsor a 2 day crusade- attendance less than 20. They moved to Chicago in December. He began a Bible training school at the local Quality Inn Hotel. 1989 the school was called Living Word Church of Chicago. 1990 renamed Living Word Christian Center. She was also a teacher and intercessor. 1994-7 they rented a space at a banquet hall in Forest park, Illinois The ministry grew (exploded) and they then purchased the Forest Park Mall - a 33 acre shopping mall. New Year’s Eve of 1997 they had their first worship service. Eddie Villanueva, is an evangelist and president- founder of one of the largest Christ-centers, Bible based, full gospel churches in the world Jesus is Lord Church Worldwide. (JILCW) 1978 He is the founder of the Philippines for Jesus Movement (PJM) which has more than 40 bishops from different Christian churches nationwide as members. He is founder and owner of Jesus is Lord Colleges Foundation, Inc. (JIKCF). He owns the ZOE television and radio Broadcasting Network - he hosts 3 of the programs Eduardo has also been a presidential candidate for the Philippines elections in 2004 and 2010. He currently a member of the 18th Congress of the Philippines and deputy speaker of the House of representatives since 22nd July 2019. Eduarda was born on 5th October 1946 in Bocaue, the Philippines. On 5th October 1978 he founded the Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide (JILCW) formerly known as Jesus Is Lord Fellowship - which had 15 members from his Bible studies. Jack Leo Van Impe was an American televangelist know for his 30 minute weekly series Jack Van Impe Presents , an eschatological commentary on the news of the week through an interpretation of the Bible. The program was aired both religious broadcasters and the purchasing of paid programming time on commercial television stations. jack was know as the Walking Bible having memorized most of the king James version of the Bible. His wife, Rexella, was co-host on the television ministry. His parents were Belgium immigrants who had moved to Troy. Michigan in 1929 two years before he was born on 9th February 1931. Jack and his father Oscar played the accordion at night clubs. They enjoyed drinking alcoholic beverages together - a European tradition. When Jack was 12, in 1943, both his father and mother, Marie Louise, experienced a conversion experience. A week later Jack walked to the front of church to profess his own faith. Father and son smashed all their bottles of alcoholic beverages. He never drank alcohol again. Oscar became a missionary with a very strong faith and Jack decided to be an evangelist. Together they played their accordions across Michigan and other states. In 1948 Jack graduated from school and entered Detroit Bible institute. He earned his diploma in 1952 and began his career as a preacher, evangelist and extensive recording career. He worked with the Billy Graham crusades. At a Youth for Christ rally with Chuck Ohman he met his future wife, Rexella Mae Shelton. They married on 21st August 1954. In the 1950s he released dozens of Gospel and spoken word recordings. Charles Rozell Swindoll is an evangelical Christian pastor, author, educator and radio preacher. In 1979 he founded Insight for Living a radio program which today is broadcast on more than 2,000 stations around the world in 15 languages. In July 1994 he became President of Dallas Theological College (DTC)- he is now Chancellor. In 1998 he founded Stonebriar Community Church (SCC) in Frisco, Texas. He was born with a stutter and credits his drama teacher, Dick Niema, for helping him to manage it. While at school he was part of the marching band and learned to play all the instruments in the woodwind section. He fulfilled his military obligation with the US Marine Corps and played in their marching band. In 1959 he attended Dallas Theological Seminary. In 1963 he graduated magna cum laude Charles was ordained in 1963. He has held 4 pastorate roles. He spent 2 years in Dallas. 2 years in Waltham Massachusetts (1965-7). 4 years at Irving, Texas (1967-71). 23 years at Fullerton, California (1971-94). He started his current senior pastorate in Frisco, Texas in 1998. The roots for Insight for Living goes back to the summer of 1977 when his sermons from First Evangelical Free church in Fullerton were broadcast on the radio. The 30 minute daily radio broadcast program is still heard on more than 2,100 stations, as well as web and podcasts and translated into 15 languages. Aged 86, on October 18th 2020, he continues to broadcast. Charles founded Stonebriar Community Church (SCC) in 1998. The first services were held at Collin County College ( now Collin College) then it moved to its permanent home on Legendary Drive as the congregation grew from 100s to 1,000s. Noel Jones is a Jamaican-American minister and a Pentecostal bishop. He is the senior pastor of City of Refuge Church in Gardena, California. Noel was born on the31st January, 1950 in Spanish Town, Saint Catherine , Jamaica. He was one of 7 children. His father was Bishop Robert - an Apostolic clergyman and politician and his mother was Marjorie Jones. One of his sisters is Grace Jones the actress and singer. In 1965 the family relocated to Syracuse, New York. Noel received the call to the ministry aged 19. He obtained a B.Sc, in Theology from Aenon Bible College. He later received an honorary doctoral degree from Life College and Seminary (then called International Circle of faith College). Aged 26 he accepted his first pastorate at Bethel Temple of Longview, Texas. June 1994, aged 44, he was chosen to succeed Bishop Robert W. McMurray as pastor at the Greater Bethany Community Church at 84th & Hoover Street in South Los Angeles. Between 1994- 2003 his congregation significantly grew from 1,000 towards 17,000 so a new building was acquired in Gardena, California. George Edward Vandeman (21 st. October 1916- 3rd November 2000) was a seventh-day adventist who founded the It is Written television ministry. He also founded the New Galley Centre in London. Aged 21 he attended Emmanuel Missionary College in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He found a job working at a weekly 15 minute radio broadcast in Elkkhart, Indiana. He married Nellie Johnson on 2nd October 1938. After completing his second year at college he began working as a full-time evangelist. In 1946 he received a MA from the University of Michigan in speech and communication. he was then ordained as a minister and worked for 4 years as a filed instructor in evangelism at Emmanuel Missionary College. In 1947 he became the associate secretary Ministerial Association at the General Conference. Aged 33 he beacme the youngest to work in Adventist church leadership. After WW11, along with other charismatic Adventist speakers, he spearheaded a drive for public evangelism in major cities like Pittsburgh (1948). Washington (1951) and London (1952). Back in 1946 he had been encouraged to try television as means of reaching others with the Gospel,. He did create a 6 month experimental evangelistic effort but due to lack of financial support it was put on hold. !0 years later, in the Spring of 1956***It Is Writtenwas launched. It was in black and white. Later it became one of the first religious programs in colour. It was based on It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Mark (b. 1945) is the former host and director of the weekly television show It Is Written (1991-2004) for which he travelled around the world as a televangelist. He was the first Seventh-day Adventist pastor to do a satellite evangelistic series. He best known for his association with Experience Hope a weekly broadcast on the Hope Channel. He has preached 17 NET series broadcasts throughout the world. He had written more than 70 books. He uses his preaching and evangelical gifts to teach others in seminars, field schools and evangelism institutes. On the 12th June 2020 members of the seventh -day Advent church were informed that he has a condition which could be termed pre-myeloma so he has been advised to cut down on activities, rest and limit his travel commitments. Billy Joe Daugherty was founder and pastor of Victory Christian Center (now Victory Church) in Tulsa. He was also the founder of Victory Christian School, Victory Bible institute and Victory World Missions training Center (now Victory College. Originally from Magnolia, Ark. , he attended Oral Roberts University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Christian education. He was youth pastor in the 1970s at Sheridan Christian Center and became senior pastor at the church in 1976, on retirement of the previous incumbent. 1980, when the attendance had grown from 300 to 2,000, he sought to relocate the church. The church leaders decided not to move so he started what is now the Victory Christian Centre. They meet briefly in a former car leadership building. In 1984 they moved into the vacant Thorau Junior High School. When that building was sold they moved to its present site at 7700 S. Lewis Av. and held services in the Mabee Centre across the road. 2007 they moved into its state of the art, £32 million, 5,000 seat Tulsa Dream Centre built without borrowing money. The same year Billy was named interim president of Oral Roberts University. As of January 2010 Victoria Christian Center reported average Sunday attendance of 9,612 and reported to be the second largest church in Tulsa. Victory’s bus ministry brings 1,000-2,000 children and teens from this area each Saturday for Kids Ministry and S.O.U.L. Youth Ministry. Billy’s daily radio and television broadcast Victory in Jesus reaches vast numbers of households across North America, as well as via satellite and internet internationally. With his wife, co-pastor Sharon, they wrote more than 12 books. In October 2009 Billy was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma -a form of cancer.
